The internal process by which George Mason’s offices, departments, and academic units submit their budget requests for 2002-04 is now underway. Due date for submissions is June 15.
Institutionally, the university will pursue funding for the priorities that were previously identified as part of its institutional performance agreement with the governor and General Assembly. These include equipping all students to succeed in the information age, enhancing excellence through private giving, building strong graduate and professional programs to promote continuous learning, and expanding policy research and education to meet state and national needs.
Key target dates over the summer in the budget process include: June through July, discussions between units and George Mason’s planning and budget group; July through August, establishing enrollment targets; and August, sharing preliminary biennium budget priorities with the Board of Visitors.
