The annual magazine of the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), Dimensions, received an award from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) District III Awards Program.

The magazine won a Special Merit Award in the Magazine Publishing Improvement category. The annual publication is produced jointly by University Relations and the CHHS Dean’s Office.

Individuals involved in the concept, redesign and production of the magazine, which was published last spring, were Creative Services staff members Leah Kerkman Fogarty, senior writer; Rick Custer, director; Sarah Seeberg, art director; Colleen Kearney Rich, editorial director; Joan Dall’Acqua, senior designer; Evan Cantwell, senior photographer; and Nicolas Tan, photographer.

From CHHS, Marcia Bearor, public relations and marketing practitioner; Mary-Earle Farrell, development director; and Shirley Travis, dean, contributed to the magazine’s development.

The University Relations office previously won two CASE District III Awards last year—one for the “Think. Learn. Succeed.” ad campaign and one for the redesign of the Mason Spirit magazine.

Christine LaPaille, vice president for University Relations, says, “Winning another CASE Award is a validation of the professionalism and high-quality expertise that the Creative Services team is bringing to their work every day. The writers, designers, photographers and editors are all to be congratulated on this latest recognition from their peers.”
