Mason’s undergraduate biology degree programs have found a new home. Previously housed in both the Molecular and Microbiology (MMB) and Environmental Science and Policy (ESP) Departments, the programs have been centralized under Director Larry Rockwood, a professor in the ESP Department.

June is the month to be social at Mason. Each Wednesday during June, the Office of Student Activities and University Life will sponsor two hours of free food and activities at the Fairfax Campus. All members of the Mason community are invited.

Mason was the site of the first International Marine Conservation Congress held May 17-24. Registrants and participants, totaling 1,200 from all over the world, attended.

Virginia Gov. Timothy Kaine has recognized May 24-30 as National Hurricane Preparedness Week, and the commonwealth will mark its second annual Hurricane Preparedness Sales Tax Holiday now through Sunday, May 31.
