Freshman Mendbagana Tovuujav earned Most Outstanding Wrestler honors at the 2009 Colonial Athletic Association Championships on Saturday.

Suzanne Carbonneau will discuss “The War Against Art: Where Are We Now?” on Monday, March 16, at 7 p.m. in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on the Fairfax Campus.

Carbonneau, a professor in the Department of Art and Visual Technology, will talk about the controversial photograph that created a political uproar and had devastating and lasting effects on the arts in America.

Men’s Basketball Falls Short in CAA Title Game

For the third time in the past six years the Mason men’s basketball team took on the VCU Rams in the Colonial Athletic Association Championship Game, and for the third time, the Rams beat the Patriots. Monday’s score was 71-50.

Sophomore Awarded Integrity Scholarship

Elyor Tulyaganov, a sophomore finance major, has received a $1,000 integrity scholarship from the National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS).

Ten scholarships are awarded each year to students who demonstrate they can make honorable decisions when faced with an ethical dilemma.

To win the award, Tulyaganov had two write two essays demonstrating how he would make honorable decisions when faced with an ethical dilemma.

Men’s Basketball Advances to CAA Title Game

Cam Long was named third-team All-CAA this season and if anything, he may not have gotten enough respect. The sophomore point guard showed that he belongs among the Colonial Athletic Association’s elite when he drained three three-pointers in the final 10 minutes on Sunday as Mason finished with a 11-3 run to beat Towson, 56-48, and advance to the CAA Championship Game.

Men’s Basketball Heads to CAA Tournament

As the Mason men’s basketball team heads to Richmond for the Colonial Athletic Association Tournament, they leave behind a record-setting season.

In their last game against Towson, the team completed the school’s first unbeaten regular season at Patriot Center, and at the same time, clinched the second seed in the tournament.

The Patriots (20-9, 13-5) are 14-0 at home, and they ran their current home winning streak to 16 games, one shy of the school’s Division I record. For just the second time in school history, Mason has won 20 games in back-to-back seasons.
