Sherwin Inducted into American Academy of Arts and Sciences

Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Martin Sherwin, who officially joined Mason’s Department of History and Art History and the School of Public Policy this fall, was inducted into the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.

Campus Safety to Be Reviewed at Fall Convocation, Oct. 17

A look at campus safety and the workings of Mason’s crisis/emergency team will be outlined at the fall convocation, set for Wednesday, Oct. 17, at 3 p.m. in the Johnson Center’s Dewberry Hall. “Celebrating the Present, Preparing for the Future” is the title of this event, which is open to the campus community and invited guests.

Mason Awarded Contract to Create a National History Education Clearinghouse

Mason has been awarded a contract — valued at $7 million if fully funded over five years — by the U.S. Department of Education to create an online National History Education Clearinghouse, which will be housed in Mason’s Center for History and New Media.
