That’s what Joanna Cornell, PhD Environmental Science and Policy ’07, hopes to convey: one small, seemingly insignificant action can make a positive difference.

Cornell created the NEST (Neighborhood Ecological Stewardship Training) Program to attract people to the natural environment around them.

Linda Schwartzstein, vice president for enrollment services and vice provost for academic affairs, has offered to match the next $5,000 in contributions to the David W. Rossell Scholarship Endowment.

Patterson Selected for Dean of Students Post

Pam Patterson, who has been serving as interim dean of students since June 2006, was permanently appointed as the new dean of students and assistant vice president of University Life.

IT Projects Briefing Scheduled

Vision Lecture Series Presents Work and Thoughts of Mason’s Distinguished Faculty

Nine top Mason scholars and researchers will share their work and insights during the second annual Vision Series, which begins this fall and continues into next year. Although the subject areas are varied, ranging from issues emanating from recent judicial decisions and the war in Iraq to the latest medical research, all the lectures are relevant to people’s lives in the 21st century.

The Staff Senate and Human Resources and Payroll teamed up to launch Mason Military Outreach. For the first initiative, members of the Mason community, including Staff Senators Susan Kehoe-Laptew (left) and Denise Napoliello, gathered to assemble care packages to send to troops serving abroad.
