The Association for Women in Mathematics (AWM) and Cornell University announced that Rebecca Goldin, Mason associate professor of mathematics, will receive the first annual Ruth I. Michler Memorial Prize.

The Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus will finish up its run this month at the Patriot Center on the Fairfax Campus. Other events this month include the Fairfax Auto Dealers Car Sale, the George Mason University College Fair and concerts by the Killers and Ricky Martin.

This week, R.G. Brown III has been working on a sculpture at Mason that coincides with the 400th anniversary of the founding of Jamestown. But the impetus for Brown’s involvement with the project began on the eastern shore of North Carolina.

The Mason women’s rowing team began their spring season on Saturday against George Washington, Georgetown and North Carolina on the Potomac River, hosted by George Washington.

Freshman women’s lacrosse midfielder Kelly Davis was named the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. Since the CAA began handing out its weekly awards five weeks ago, Davis has won the award in three of those five weeks.
