Women’s Basketball Schedule Announced

The 2006-07 women’s basketball schedule, which includes four meetings with schools that competed in the 2006 NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship, has been announced.

John Spaldo, Mason’s assistant vice president of University Services since January 2003, has been named associate vice president for University Operations.

Professor Joins Select Group of Forensic Nurses

Michele Davidson

Michele Davidson, associate professor in Mason’s School of Nursing in the College of Health and Human Services (CHHS), recently joined the ranks of a select group of nurses known as certified forensic nurses. She intends to use her new skill set to conduct research related to sexual assault and victimization.

Novelist Kim Edwards, whose latest book, “The Memory Keeper’s Daughter,” is no. 1 on the Washington Post paperback bestseller list, and social justice activist Angela Davis lead the list of recent additions to George Mason University’s Fall for the Book festival, Sept. 27 through Oct. 5.

Susan Kehoe grew up with guns. She was exposed to recreational shooting and hunting through her brothers and father, who consider guns a part of their lives. However, Kehoe, director of GMU-TV, never fully embraced the sport the way other members of her family did.

Mason’s Department of Music has announced the schedule of events for the next couple of months.

September at the Patriot Center

Events at the Patriot Center in September include the Washington Bridal Showcase and Aap Ka Sarror Indian Concert.

In addition, the Patriot Center will have two hiring events to fill part-time box office, parking attendant, operations and ushering positions.

Computational Materials Science Center Schedules Colloquium

2006-07 Men’s Basketball Schedule Released

The George Mason men’s basketball team will open the season on Nov. 11 at Cleveland State University. Mason’s home opener will be the following week, when the Patriots host Wichita State University on Nov. 18 at 4 p.m. Mason will face the Shockers for the third time in eight months. That game will be broadcast on ESPN2.
