Resident Advisor to Receive Mason’s Presidential Citation

George Mason undergraduate Clarissa Abban expected the morning of Sept. 30, 2005, to be no different than any other day of the week. Abban is a resident advisor for President’s Park and oversees the safety of students.

Political Folk Music Group Brings New Meaning to Harmony

The group Emma’s Revolution, who led more than 10,000 people in singing their peace song “Peace, Salaam, Shalom” in New York City just after Sept. 11, 2001, is coming to Mason’s Fairfax Campus on March 6 to perform and teach about music advocacy.

Studying Medicine in the Caribbean

George Mason signed an agreement with the St. Martinus University (SMU) Faculty of Medicine, located on the Caribbean island of Curaçao, Netherlands Antilles, on Wednesday. Calhoun Named Vice President for Facilities

Tom Calhoun, who joined George Mason a year ago as director of facilities planning, has been promoted to vice president for Facilities, effective Feb. 25. Calhoun succeeds Reid Herlihy, who recently resigned after 19 years with Mason.

Mason Hosts Minority Pre-law Conference

Faculty Senate Discusses Changes to Academic Calendar

At its meeting Wednesday, the Faculty Senate continued its discussion of proposed changes to the Academic Calendar, which were studied as a result of a request by the Student Senate. The Student Senate passed a resolution on Feb. 2 recommending changes that would have the primary aim of providing more reading days before exams.
