Center for the Arts Welcomes Moiseyev Dance Company

Acclaimed throughout the world as the greatest of all folk dance groups, the 67-year-old Moiseyev Dance Company, honored as Russia’s official “State Academic Ensemble of Popular Dance,” has captivated international audiences with its technical brilliance and exuberant evocations of traditional dances. At the heart of the group’s success is its 90-year-old visionary artistic director, choreographer, and founder, Igor Moiseyev.

Faculty Showcase to Discuss Using Open Course Platform

“Open Course Platform to Aid Instructors in Teaching and Marketing Online Courses” is the title of the next Faculty Showcase at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 4, in Innovation Hall, Room 334. Sponsored by the Center for Teaching Excellence and the Division of Instructional and Technology Support Services’ Instructional Resource Center, the showcase will be led by Farrokh Alemi, acting assistant dean of the College of Nursing and Health Science.

Watts Is February Employee of the Month

Alice Watts, academic coordinator for the College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), is the February Employee of the Month. “She is the college’s front line in student recruitment and student advising—and she is absolutely critical to the lifeblood of our unit,” says William Reeder, dean of CVPA.
