Annual Faculty and Staff Holiday Party to Be Held Today

The annual George Mason faculty and staff holiday party will be held today from 3 to 5:30 p.m. in the Johnson Center’s Dewberry Hall. The theme is “Come Aboard the S.S. Mason for a Holiday Cruise.” This party marks the eighth annual holiday event for all Mason employees.

“We have done more and more. More dollars have been put toward [preventing] abusive drinking by college students, and we have not seen much of a result.” These were the dire words of David Anderson, director of the Center for the Advancement of Public Health at Mason and a professor in the School of Recreation, Health, and Tourism, when he spoke during the latest installation of “Sesno Reports: America Drinks,” which airs Thursday, Dec. 30, at 8 p.m. on WETA TV-26.

Communication Professor Anita Taylor to Retire After 25 Years

Anita Taylor, first chair of the Department of Communication at Mason and professor of communication and gender studies, will retire this semester. Colleagues are invited to attend a reception in her honor tomorrow at George’s Restaurant in the Johnson Center from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Student Health Services Features New Women’s Health Clinic

Student Health Services is now offering a new service to female George Mason students—a Women’s Health Clinic. The clinic provides services and classes in Student Union Building I, Room 214, on the Fairfax Campus.
