Staff Senate Calls for Nominations; Deadline Feb. 26

The Staff Senate is calling for nominations from classified and nonstudent wage staff to fill open seats in the 2007 annual spring election. Staff members may nominate themselves or other Mason staff members.

The senate exists on behalf of staff from all campuses. Several open seats at the Arlington and Prince William Campuses are available in this election. To make participation easy and convenient, the monthly senate meetings are videoconferenced and teleconferenced to other campuses, and staff at all campuses are urged to step forward.

Mason staff members are encouraged to become involved by nominating employees who are able and willing to serve as advocates for staff.

A nomination form has been created to make the process easier, but a nomination can also be made without using the form. The forms will be sent out by e-mail to Mason staff and are also available at the Staff Senate web site.

The deadline for nominations is 5 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 26. Nominations can be submitted by e-mail to dgeorge@gmu.edu, by campus mail to MS 2A4 or by fax to 703-993-4150.
