Obama Visits Mason on Friday; Dining Services in Johnson Center Limited during Event

Because of the large crowd expected on Friday, Feb. 2, during Sen. Barack Obama’s visit to Mason’s Fairfax Campus for a College Democrats rally, most of the Johnson Center Food Court eateries will be closed during the event, which begins at 1 p.m. and is expected to conclude around 2 p.m.

La Patisserie, Charleston Market, and the Express convenience store in the Johnson Center Food Court will open in the morning at the usual time and will close at 10:30 a.m. The Johnson Center Food Court will be closed for the rally. After the event, only the Express will reopen.

All other dining facilities on the Fairfax Campus will be open as usual, including the Bistro, George’s and Jazzman’s in the Johnson Center. Other options are Damon’s, Damon’s Express, Chik Fil A and Jazzman’s in the Student Union Building I; and Ciao Hall in Student Union Building II.
