Annual Jazz Concert Benefits Law Foundation

On Friday, Nov. 10, the George Mason University Jazz Ensemble will play in the 5th annual Jazz for Justice concert benefiting the Fairfax Law Foundation. James Carroll, the Director of Jazz Studies at George Mason University and the founding conductor of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, will conduct the ensemble as they perform the music of such jazz legends as Count Basie, Yoko Kanno, Buddy Rich, Maynard Ferguson, Duke Ellington and others.

The concert will begin at 8 p.m. and will take place in the Center for the Arts Concert Hall on the Fairfax Campus.

Sponsored by the Fairfax Law Foundation and the College of Visual and Performing Arts, the concert seeks to encourage the development of pro bono and community outreach programs such as the Family Legal Assistance Project, the Neighborhood Outreach Program, Fairfax Court Tours for Middle Schools.
