For the second week in a row, George Mason University freshman soccer goalkeeper Sean Kelley was named Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Brine Rookie of the Week.
Kelley tallied three saves in Mason’s 1-0 win over George Washington University on Sept. 16 and now has a total of 25 saves this season. After Saturday’s victory, Kelley has three consecutive shutouts and four total in just six career matches.
Kelley leads the CAA with a 0.66 goals against average and sits 23rd in the nation with this average. In addition, the Kentucky native is tied for 18th in the nation in save percentage (0.862).
This marks the third time this year in which a Patriot has earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors. Freshman Richard Edgar earned the honor on Aug. 28, and Kelley’s first honor was on Sept. 11.
