Beginning Monday, Oct. 16, the Office of the Provost will hold forums on the State of Mason Academics at all three campuses. The forum provides an opportunity for exchange and questions between Provost Peter Stearns, relevant members of his staff and the university community.
Initial remarks at this forum will focus on accountability and student learning outcomes; initiatives in Loudoun County, Ras Al Khaimah and with the Smithsonian; budget and budget prospects; and George Mason as a great university (a recent Board of Visitors topic).
Discussion can range over these topics and any others brought by the audience. Questions and comments will be welcome, in what is intended as a lively, mutually instructive exchange. Light refreshments will be served.
The schedule is as follows:
- Fairfax Campus―Monday, Oct. 16, noon to 1 p.m., Johnson Center Cinema
- Arlington Campus―Tuesday, Oct. 24, 10 to 11 a.m., Original Building, Room 244
- Prince William Campus―Friday, Nov. 3, 10 to 11 a.m., Verizon Auditorium
