The Patriots’ games will be broadcast on national television three times in the regular season.

Mason’s other nonconference home games include Florida International University on Nov. 27, Mississippi State University on Dec. 30 and the ESPN BracketBusters contest on Feb. 17. The opponent for that game will be announced in early February.

Road games include Hampton University on Nov. 21, Creighton University on Nov. 25, Radford University on Dec. 6, Duke University on Dec. 9 (broadcast on ESPN), College of the Holy Cross on Dec. 21 and Drexel University on Dec. 28.

In addition, Mason will take on Bucknell University on Dec. 3 at the BB&T Classic at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C. It will be the third straight season in which Mason has appeared in the BB&T Classic, and it will be the Patriots’ first appearance in the Verizon Center since defeating the University of Connecticut, 86-84, in overtime to earn the school’s first-ever trip to the NCAA Final Four.

The Patriots will play home Colonial Athletic Association games with the College of William and Mary (Jan. 3), Old Dominion University (Feb. 3), the University of North Carolina-Wilmington (Jan. 8), James Madison University (Jan. 13), Northeastern University (Jan. 20), Virginia Commonwealth University (Jan. 24) and the University of Delaware (Jan. 31).

The Patriots will play at Drexel and Towson University while hosting Georgia State University (Feb. 21) and Hofstra University (Feb. 10). Mason’s contest with Hofstra will be televised on ESPN2.

Mason could earn a fourth date on national television depending on the BracketBusters match-up. The Patriots took on Wichita State last year in the BracketBusters, and that game was shown on ESPN2. The two teams met again the following month in the Sweet Sixteen of the NCAA Tournament. Mason leads the all-time series, 3-1.

Mason will face Florida International for the first time in school history. Mississippi State is making the trip to Fairfax in return for Mason’s trip to Starkville in 2005. Mississippi State won that contest, 63-61, the only meeting in the history of the two schools.

Mason faced Hampton, Creighton, Radford and Holy Cross at home in 2005-06, defeating all but Creighton, which downed Mason 72-52 at the Patriot Center. The Patriots are 0-2 all-time against Cleveland State. The Patriots are also 0-2 all-time against Duke.

The Patriots are 6-2 all-time against Bucknell. In Mason’s previous BB&T Classic appearances, the Patriots lost to the University of Maryland and Michigan State University, both nationally ranked, in 2004, while downing American University in 2005.

The CAA Tournament will once again be held in Richmond at the Richmond Coliseum. Play begins March 2 and runs through March 5, with the winner of the tournament receiving an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.

Season tickets are currently available for the 2006-07 season. Fans can visit GoMason.com to get a ticket order form or call the ticket office at 703-993-3270 for more details.
