Tickets for the Center for the Arts Sept. 30 performance of pop vocalist, arranger and composer Michael Feinstein are now on sale through www.tickets.com (888-945-2468).
No contemporary artist captures the essence of popular music like this four-time GRAMMY nominee who has been described by the New York Times as “a relaxed, witty stand-up entertainer and a swinging pop-jazz interpreter.”
Feinstein, who achieved fame with his Broadway hit, “Isn’t it Romantic,” has released 20 albums, sold out shows worldwide and performed at the White House and Buckingham Palace. Along with a six-piece combo, Feinstein performs his most requested tunes – “Isn’t it Romantic” and “Alexander’s Ragtime Band” – as well as standards by Gershwin, Porter, Berlin, Mercer and Kern.
Tickets for the 8 p.m. performance are $50, $42 and $25.
The concert is anchoring the “Arts, by George” scholarship benefit celebrating the Arts at Mason. Proceeds support student scholarships for art and visual technology, dance, music and theater at George Mason. For a $200 donation, participants are treated to fine food and drink, a tour of the talents of Mason students, the Feinstein concert and a private dessert reception afterwards.
