Doesn’t your supervisor need a little pat on the back? There is no better way to say thank you than to nominate him or her for an award. The Staff Senate is calling for nominations for the Outstanding Supervisor Award. The award will be presented on Tuesday, Sept. 12, at 2 p.m. in Dewberry Hall during the Human Resources Outstanding Achievement Award ceremony. The recipient will receive an award and gift on behalf of the Staff Senate.
Employees who report directly to a supervisor may submit the supervisor’s name for consideration along with a letter of support. Other staff members may also submit letters in support of the nomination. The letters should describe how the supervisor meets the award criteria.
Nominations are due by close of business on Friday, Aug. 18. E-mail Donna George, recording secretary of the Staff Senate, at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 703-993-4141 to have a nomination form e-mailed or faxed.
This award is given twice each year, in coordination with the Human Resources award and recognition ceremonies.
The spring Outstanding Supervisor Award went to Susan Swett, director of Graduate Admissions for the College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
