Single tickets for all events at George Mason’s Center for the Arts in Fairfax go on sale Friday, Sept. 1, through, 888-945-2468 (service charges apply) or in person at the center’s ticket office (lobby of the Concert Hall, Tuesday-Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

Artistic director Rick Davis describes the center as “a generative force for regional arts and culture,” mainly due to the inclusion of several local ensembles and artists, including the Fairfax Symphony Orchestra’s October concert, local choreographers Susan Shields and Dana Tai Soon Burgess, and the center’s home-grown Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra.

This season includes Broadway crooner Michael Feinstein, the Drummers of Burundi, Tania Pérez-Salas Compañia de Danza, Bo Diddley, Lorin Maazel conducting the Symphonica Arturo Toscanini, Edgar Meyer and Chris Thile, the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Soweto Gospel Choir, Gewandhaus Orchestra of Leipzig, Natalie MacMaster, Cherryholmes, John Williams and John Etheridge Duo, and Shen Wei Dance Arts.

Returning artists include audience favorites such as Betty Buckley, virtuosic pianist Ivo Pogorelich, the Bayanihan Philippine National Dance Company, holiday sounds from Christopher Parkening and Jubilant Sykes, and Eileen Ivers and Immigrant Soul.

Cirque Eloize returns, as do several of the center’s most popular ensembles: the Mark Morris Dance Group, sonorous Chanticleer, and the lively musicianship of the Canadian Brass, among others.
