In celebration of three decades of partnership between the Northern Virginia business community and George Mason, the Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce will spotlight the school’s successes, leaders and legends at the group’s annual Chairman’s Lunch on Tuesday, June 13.
University President Alan Merten, Athletic Director Tom O’Connor and men’s basketball Head Coach Jim Larranaga will discuss George Mason’s academic and athletic achievements and how the university is positioned for future success.
The luncheon program will be held at the Patriot Center on the university’s Fairfax Campus.
In addition, former Mason President George Johnson and John “Til” Hazel, one of the university’s most generous benefactors, will be honored with the Fairfax County Chamber’s James Rees Award for community service.
“From the very beginning, George Mason University has been an invaluable partner in the development of Northern Virginia’s powerhouse economy and world-class quality of life. The university is one of our community’s most treasured assets and, speaking on behalf of my fellow Fairfax County Chamber of Commerce Board members, we are proud to honor the past, present and future of George Mason at the chamber’s premier annual event,” said Arthur “Bud” Morrissette, chamber treasurer.
