Tisdell Named to CAA All-Rookie Team

Redshirt freshman Tyler Tisdell was named to the Colonial Athletic Association All-Rookie Team today for his outstanding season, which culminated with a berth to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships in Oklahoma City, Okla.
Ten wrestlers made the team, with one representative at each weight class.
Tisdell, who made the team at 165 pounds, led the team with 28 wins and nine major decisions. He was 8-1 in conference matches, finishing as the runner-up at 165 pounds at the CAA Championships, upsetting the no. 2 seed, Old Dominion University’s Robby Gosnell, in the semifinals, before losing 3-2 to top-seeded Chris Vondruska of Hofstra University.
Tisdell earned a trip to the NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships as a result of his second-place finish at the CAA Championships. He earned CAA Rookie of the Week honors three times during the season – Jan. 31, Feb. 7 and March 7.
