Fenwick Fellow Application Deadline Extended

The deadline for applications for the Fenwick Fellow program has been extended to Wednesday, May 10, at 5 p.m.
The competition is open to all tenured and tenure-track, as well as term faculty at George Mason University. The program is sponsored and administered by the Office of the University Librarian and supports research costs associated with acquisition of library materials needed for the fellow’s research, as well as other related research costs.
The fellowship provides an award of $2,000 for research materials and assistance, along with an equipped research office in Fenwick Library.
Fellows are encouraged to use at least half the award for purchasing books, journals or multimedia materials, which will be added to the University Libraries’ permanent collection.
Applications will be reviewed by the Faculty Senate Budget and Resources Committee, with the participation of two librarians appointed by the Council of Librarians. The committee is especially interested in projects that make special use of the Libraries’ collections and services.
Selections will be announced near the end of the 2005-06 academic year.
