George Mason’s annual spring convocation, scheduled this year for April 12, will not be held because of the unprecedented flurry of activity surrounding the university’s men’s basketball team and the attention its success made necessary on the part of the administration.
Mason’s upcoming plans to reorganize several of its major academic units, including the College of Arts and Sciences and the College of Nursing and Health Science, were to be the primary topics of discussion at this gathering of the campus community. Instead, this academic reorganization will be explored in future editions of the Mason Gazette.
The next planned gathering of the entire campus community will be the fall convocation on Wednesday, Oct. 11, at 3 p.m. in Dewberry Hall.
