War Veteran and Peace Activist to Speak at Mason

Decorated Vietnam War veteran and peace activist Scott Camil will visit George Mason on Thursday, March 23, and will speak in several venues about similarities and differences between the Vietnam and Iraq conflicts, the evidence of war crimes in both wars and the psychological effects of combat service and the witnessing of atrocities.
Camil is featured in the recently re-released documentary, “Winter Soldier,” which presents the testimony made by returning veterans in 1971 about atrocities they had committed or observed in Vietnam. Camil has also visited Iraq during the current war.
