Women’s Basketball Championship Begins at Patriot Center

For the second time in league history, the Colonial Athletic Association Women’s Basketball Championship will be held in Fairfax, with the Patriot Center playing host to the exciting four-day event. Championship action will tip off on Wednesday, March 8.

Eighth-seeded George Mason will play in the 7:30 p.m. game against ninth-seeded Virginia Commonwealth University.

The top four seeds, which have first-round byes, are Old Dominion University, James Madison University, University of Delaware and Hofstra University.

No. 5 College of William & Mary will face no. 12 Georgia State in the 5 p.m. game, and no. 6 University of North Carolina Wilmington will challenge no. 11 Northeastern University at 2:30 p.m. No. 7 Drexel University will face no. 10 Towson University in the opener at noon.

  • Quarterfinals will be played on Thursday, March 9, at noon, 2:30, 5, and 7:30 p.m.
  • Semifinals will be played on Friday, March 10, at 5 and 7:30 p.m.
  • The championship game will be played on Saturday, March 11, at noon

Tickets are only $9 (regularly $14) per day when purchased in advance at the Patriot Center Box Office. One ticket provides admission to all games on one day.
