Patriots Head to CAA Tournament

Be bold, wear gold! That’s the mantra for this weekend as the men’s basketball team heads into the important Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Tournament. Winning the tournament will mean a berth for the Patriots in the NCAA Championship tournament that begins March 14.

Basketball events, Saturday through Monday:

On the Fairfax Campus

  • Saturday, March 4: watch the game at 6 p.m. via the Internet on
  • Sunday, March 5: Game Watch Party, Johnson Center Atrium, 6 p.m.
  • Monday, March 6: Championship Game Watch Party, Johnson Center Atrium, 7 p.m.
  • Sunday, March 12: NCAA Selection Sunday Show, 6 p.m., Johnson Center Atrium.

    Going to Richmond

  • Get on the Bus: Join Fellow Patriot Fans on the Road to the CAA Men’s Basketball Championship at the Richmond Coliseum

    Students ride free ($10 refundable deposit reserves a seat). All others pay $10. Reserve your spot today by visiting the Student Activities Office in Student Union Building I, Room 101. Game tickets will be sold at the box office at the Richmond Coliseum ($5.50 for students and $16 for nonstudents), where the games will be played.

  • Bus Departure on Saturday, March 4, Sunday March 5 and Monday March 6:

    Board the bus outside Sandy Creek Parking Deck/Parking Service Office. The bus departs at 3 p.m. each day and will leave from Richmond approximately 30 minutes after the end of each game. Questions? Contact Alissa Karton at or 703-993-1438.

  • For those not traveling on the bus, directions to the Richmond Coliseum are available at the CAA web site. Paid parking is available in various lots around the Coliseum.
