Thomas Moncure Joins Mason as University Counsel

Thomas Moncure, senior counsel to Virginia Attorneys General Jerry Kilgore and Judith Jadgmann since 2002, has joined George Mason as university counsel.
Prior to his work in the office of the Attorney General, Moncure was Circuit Court clerk in Stafford County, Va., assistant general counsel for the National Rifle Association and a lawyer in private practice in Stafford County.
Moncure was also an elected member of the Virginia General Assembly, 1982-88.
He is a commissioned career military police officer in the Reserve Components (retired). He has a BA in English from the Virginia Military Institute, and an MA in History from George Mason.
Moncure fills the position left vacant by the death of Jeff Brandwine last year.
