The Fairfax Innovation Center (FIC), a business incubator at the School of Public Policy’s Mason Enterprise Center in Old Town Fairfax, will hold an open house on Monday, Jan. 30, to celebrate its expansion and growing success.

The event will take place from 4 to 7 p.m. at the newly renovated building at 4031 University Drive. Rep. Tom Davis will be on hand to kick off the event with President Alan Merten.

A joint venture of the City of Fairfax and George Mason University, FIC has expanded to 49 offices and approximately 29,000 square feet of space, including a state-of-the-art electronic conference center that is available for university use. FIC is now home to 27 start-up companies of all types, including government contractors, technology specialists, law, international consultants and security firms.

The newest tenant firms include Dexisive Inc., Distinct Studio, Inc., Northern Virginia Juvenile Law Center LLC, Stickshift Solutions Inc. and Team Technology Inc.

“We are very excited about the respect we have been receiving in the business community,” says Judy Barral, FIC director. “The open house will help us celebrate not only our successes, but also the successes of our tenant clients.”

FIC provides networking opportunities, access to business advisors and training and discounts on educational programs in addition to furnished office space, telephone and receptionist service and Internet access.

To attend the open house, RSVP to Barral at jbarral@gmu.edu.
