George Mason University freshman forward Lucas Pardew was named Brine Colonial Athletic Association Rookie of the Week for his efforts against the College of William and Mary in the Patriots’ final home game of the 2005 campaign.
Pardew is the second Patriot to receive this honor. Freshman goalkeeper Eric Barnes was tabbed Rookie of the Week on Sept. 26.
Pardew tallied three points on Oct. 30 as he dished out his second assist of the year to junior Josh Fleming in the 40th minute off of a cross in front of the net. Pardew then went on to fire off the game-winner just nine minutes later for his first goal of the season off of an assist from Fleming, which helped propel Mason to a 3-2 victory over the Tribe.
Mason (7-6-4, 3-3-4 CAA) is currently in sixth place in the league and can secure a berth in the CAA Championship with a win over Towson University on Nov. 4. Game time is 2 p.m. in Towson, Md.
