Kurt Ankeny-Beauchamp, Information Technology Unit, left the university to start a business as a freelance illustrator.

Jerry Drake, Instructional Resource Center, has accepted a position at the Association of American Medical Colleges.

Laurie Fathe, director of the Center for Teaching Excellence, was named associate provost for educational improvement and innovation in addition to her director duties.

Kathleen E. Kuster, Purchasing and Accounts Payable, retired.

Lisa McCarty, Creative Services, left the university for a full-time job.

Ralph K. Roberts, Counseling Center, retired.

David Smith, Creative Services, left the university for a full-time graphic design position.

College of Arts and Sciences

Suzanne Agha, assistant professor, Psychology, comes to George Mason from the Pennsylvania State University, where she is pursuing her PhD.

Raymond Akwule, Communication, retired.

Ralph Barocas, Psychology, retired.

Andrew Bickford, assistant professor, Sociology and Anthropology, comes to George Mason after serving as a visiting assistant professor at California State University.

Antonio Carreno-Rodriquez, assistant professor of Spanish, comes to George Mason after serving as a lecturer at Yale University, where he received his PhD in Spanish and Portuguese languages and literatures.

Yoonmee Chang, assistant professor, English, comes to George Mason after serving as assistant professor at Indiana University.

Matthew Cotter, History, joins George Mason as a term instructor.

Christa Craven, term assistant professor, Women’s Studies, comes to George Mason after serving as an adjunct instructor at the University of Mary Washington.

John G. Dale, assistant professor, Sociology and Anthropology, comes to George Mason after serving as a lecturer at California State University.

Nicole Darnall, assistant professor, Environmental Science and Policy, comes to George Mason after serving as an assistant professor at North Carolina State University.

Rebecca Ericson, term instructor, Physics and Astronomy, comes to George Mason after serving as an adjunct instructor at Northern Virginia Community College. She is a PhD candidate at George Mason.

Carrie Euler, term postdoctoral fellow, History, comes to George Mason after serving as an instructor at Johns Hopkins University, where she received her PhD.

Christopher Gardner, postdoctoral fellow, History, comes to George Mason from the University of Nebraska, where he served as visiting assistant professor of medieval history.

Pamela Garner, associate professor of integrative and interdisciplinary studies, comes to George Mason after serving at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Mary Frances Giandrea, postdoctoral fellow, History, comes to George Mason from Boston College, where she earned her PhD.

Neil Goldman, term assistant professor, Physics and Astronomy, comes to George Mason after serving in the New York City school district.

Christopher Hamner, assistant professor, History, comes to George Mason after serving as lecturer at Appalachian State University.

Meni Koslowsky, term professor, Psychology, has taught at Hofstra and the University of Connecticut.

Charles Lipp, term postdoctoral fellow, History, comes to George Mason after serving as visiting assistant professor at St. John Fisher College.

Lisa Lister, term assistant professor, English, comes to George Mason after serving as a lecturer and adjunct faculty at American University, where she also received her MFA.

Cynthia Lum, assistant professor, Public and International Affairs, comes to George Mason after serving as an assistant professor at Northeastern University.

Michael Malouf, assistant professor, English, comes to George Mason after serving as a visiting assistant professor at Wake Forest University.

William J. McAuley, professor of health policy, sociology and anthropology, comes to George Mason after serving as a professor at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Eric McGlinchey, assistant professor, Public and International Affairs, comes to George Mason after serving as assistant professor at Iowa State University.

Patrick E. McKnight, assistant professor, Psychology, comes to George Mason after serving as a research assistant professor at the University of Arizona, where he also received his PhD.

Sara R. Mitcho, term instructor, English, comes to George Mason after serving as a writer and program manager for INTECS International, Inc.

Jonathan J. Mohr, assistant professor, Psychology, comes to George Mason after serving as assistant professor at Loyola College.

Christopher A. Monk, assistant professor Psychology, comes to George Mason after serving as a senior human factors researcher at WESTAT.

Merav Opher, assistant professor, Physics and Astronomy, comes to George Mason after serving as a postdoctoral scholar at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

E.C.M. (Chris) Parsons, Environmental Science and Policy, moves from his freelance consultancy position and adjunct assistant professor service at George Mason to serve as term assistant professor.

Paul Posner, professor, Public and International Affairs and the new director of the Master’s in Public Administration Program, comes to George Mason after serving as director of federal budget and intergovernmental relations at the Government Accountability Office.

Ilia Rainer, assistant professor, Economics, comes to George Mason from Harvard University, where she is pursuing a PhD.

Michelle Ramos-Pellicia, assistant professor of Spanish, comes to George Mason after serving as an adjunct professor at Columbus State Community College.

Angela Rhoe, term instructor, English, and assistant director of the Writing Center, comes to George Mason after serving as a writing instructor at the University of Cincinnati.

Jessica Ritter, assistant professor, Social Work, comes to George Mason from the University of Texas, where she served as assistant professor and currently is pursuing her PhD.

Matthew Romaniello, term postdoctoral fellow, History, comes to George Mason University after serving as visiting assistant professor at Hamilton College.

Ellen W. Rowe, assistant professor Psychology, comes to George Mason after receiving her PhD in educational psychology at the University of Georgia.

Tony Roshan Samara, assistant professor, Sociology and Anthropology, comes to George Mason after serving as a faculty member at De Anza Community College.

Mark Sample, assistant professor, English, comes to George Mason from the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his PhD.

Jessica Scarlata, assistant professor, English, comes to George Mason after serving as a visiting assistant professor at Florida Atlantic University.

Margaret Scolaro, term instructor, English, received her MA from George Mason, where she specialized in medieval and renaissance literature. She has been a lecturer at George Mason and Mary Washington University.

Sabine Sievern, assistant professor of German, comes to George Mason after serving as a principal instructor at the University of Alberta, where she also is pursuing her PhD.

Leila Smith, term instructor of integrative studies, comes to George Mason after serving as a consultant to nonprofit organizations.

Matthew Specter, term postdoctoral fellow, History, comes to George Mason after serving as a visiting scholar at the Max Plank Institute.

Henry Tran, term postdoctoral research fellow, Psychology, comes to George Mason from Temple University, where he is pursuing his PhD.

Maksim Tsvetovat, assistant professor, Public and International Affairs with a specialty in computational social sciences, comes to George Mason from Carnegie Mellon University, where he is pursuing his PhD.

Danica N. Vukovic, is a new term assistant professor, English.

Andrea Weeks, assistant professor, Environmental Science and Policy, comes to George Mason after serving as a National Research Council postdoctoral research associate.

Edmund Zolnik, assistant professor, Geography, comes to George Mason after serving as visiting assistant professor at Binghamton University.

Ronald Barnes, joins Mason as an assistant professor

in Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Michael Casey, joins Mason as an assistant professor

in Civil, Environmental and Infrastructure Engineering.

Rajesh Ganesan, joins Mason as an assistant professor

in Systems Engineering and Operations Research.

Kathryn Laskey, Systems Engineering and Operations Research, has been appointed associate director of the Center of Excellence in Command, Control, Communications, Computing and Intelligence (C4I Center).

Jessica Lin joins Mason as an assistant professor

in Information and Software Engineering.

Daniel Menascé, Computer Science, was named associate dean for research and graduate studies. He takes over from Stephen Nash, who will be working at the National Science Foundation as a program director for the Operations Research/Service Enterprise Engineering Program for the next two years.

Jill Nelson joins Mason as an assistant professor in

Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Mark Pullen, Computer Science, is the new director of the Center of Excellence in Command, Control, Communications, Computing and Intelligence (C4I Center) Center following Harry Van Trees’ retirement.

William F. Rosenberger joins Mason as a professor in

Applied and Engineering Statistics.

Daniel Tabak, Electrical and Computer Engineering, retired.

Harry Van Trees, director, Center of Excellence in Command, Control, Communications, Computing and Intelligence Center (C4I Center), retired. He continues to be associated with the C4I Center as director emeritus.

Jon Whittle joins Mason as an associate professor in

Information and Software Engineering.

Yutao Zhong joins Mason as an assistant professor in

Computer Science.
