Where’s the Mustang?

Today, the torch-red 2005 Mustang is parked on the Johnson Center South Plaza, but next week, who knows? What is certain is that by Commencement ’06, the car is destined to be owned by a Mason student.
Dining Services, the current owner of the car, has made it easy for a lucky student to win it next spring. Entry blanks will be available at a variety of Mason events during the year; the next opportunity is Patriots Day on Thursday, Sept. 15. To enter the drawing, students simply drop the completed entry form into the slightly opened passenger window of the car.
Other opportunities to enter are Every Freakin’ Friday events and other Mason community celebrations.
On certain Every Freakin’ Fridays, three semifinalists will be drawn at random from all entries submitted up to that date. On the First Friday of May 2006, one entry (as well as three back-up winners) will be drawn from the semifinalists, and the car is theirs. The winner must be a Mason student at the time of the drawings.
Michael Galvin, director of marketing and community affairs for Dining Services, says the car may be used as a focus for advertising campus events, “and the location might change from time to time as it chases campus happenings.”
