Provost Peter Stearns announced that a search committee has been established to identify the dean for the new College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences.
“This is an internal search,” Stearns says, “which I hope will be able to conclude successfully during the present semester.”
The new dean will assist the transition to the new college and then serve as dean for a three-year term. During the third year of the term, a national search will be conducted.
The provost says the search committee will establish a position description and will welcome suggestions for candidates and appropriate procedures for consultation and vetting.
The committee is chaired by Gary Galluzzo, College of Education and Human Development. Other members are Peter Boettke, Economics; Jeffrey Chamberlain, Modern and Classical Languages; Julie Christensen, Modern and Classical Languages; Devon Hodges, English; Nance Lucas, New Century College; Roy Rosenzweig, History and Art History; Joseph Scimecca, Sociology and Anthropology; June Tangney, Psychology; Christopher Thaiss, English; and Rex Wade, History and Art History.
