From today through Sunday, Aug. 28, approximately 4,000 new and returning resident Mason students will move into Fairfax Campus housing for the start of the fall semester on Monday. Here’s the plan for arrivals and traffic flow.

Today and tomorrow new resident students will arrive to campus via Roanoke River Road to Patriot’s Circle and park in the Sandy Creek Parking Deck. The traffic will enter the deck via York River Road. Check-in takes place in Dewberry Hall from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Presidents Park traffic is then routed from the Sandy Creek Parking Deck via Sandy Creek Way to Patriot’s Circle and then up Shenandoah River Lane into Presidents Park at the metered lot entrance.

Check-in at Dewberry Hall closes at 3 p.m. and reopens in Eisenhower Hall in Presidents Park from 6 to 9 p.m. There will also be some traffic from Lot F to Chesapeake River Way between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. today and tomorrow from freshmen assigned to DUCC.

On Saturday, Aug. 27 and Sunday, Aug. 28, upper-class resident students arrive at their assigned housing areas to check in between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Heavy traffic flow areas on both days will include Parking Lots F, Chesapeake River Way, Rivanna River Lane, George Mason Boulevard, Anna River Court (near Patriot’s Village), Liberty Square, Potomac Heights and Patriot Circle near these locations.
