Sondra Patrick, a George Mason alumna and veteran educator with 25 years of experience in higher education—including 10 at George Mason—has been selected as director of operations for Mason’s new Loudoun County site. She will assume her new duties on Aug. 8.
“I am pleased to welcome Sondra back to George Mason,” says President Alan Merten. “She has long been a part of our family, having graduated from here and worked here. She will be an integral part of ensuring the success of our Loudoun programs.”
A former assistant professor of higher education administration at George Washington University, Patrick earned her PhD in Education from George Mason in 1997. She most recently held the position of dean of the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University and the DeVry University Center at Tysons Corner.
Patrick will be responsible for managing the daily operation of the Loudoun site, developing operating procedures and strategies, and promoting and representing George Mason to the local communities and businesses. In addition, she will provide financial management.
Fall classes begin at the Loudoun site, 21641 Ridgetop Circle in Sterling, Va., and all George Mason campuses on Aug. 29.
