Charvis Campbell is the new academic and student services liaison for the Arlington Campus. Campbell will be planning many Student Activity events on the campus and will work as a liaison for some University Life offices such as the Office of International Programs and Services, Writing Center, English Language Institute, and the Counseling Center.
Samuel Dean is the new supervisor in the Carpenter Shop at the Fairfax Campus.
Jessica Fischer has joined the University Libraries as a collection development librarian.
Anne Kari Friedner joins the Office of the Senior Vice President as administrative assistant.
Michelle Guobadia joins University Life as the new assistant director of Greek life.
Beatrix Henize is the new director of corporate and foundation relations in the Development Office. Most recently, she worked at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where she served as the director of corporate and foundation relations.
Ubaidul Khan is a new computer systems engineer in the Information Technology Unit.
James L. Johnson has joined the Athletics Department as assistant coach for men’s basketball.
Michael Laskofski is the new assistant director, post award, for the Office of Sponsored Programs.
Robert Liessem Jr. was hired as the women’s soccer goalkeeping coach. He spent the last two seasons as an assistant and goalkeeping coach at Old Dominion University.
Upendra Malani, director of Arlington Campus Operations, left the university and is now managing buildings for Equity in Washington, D.C.
Edwin W. Mattox is a new buyer specialist in the Purchasing Office.
David McIntrye is the new bookstore manager on the Arlington Campus.
Elaine Newman is the new Parking Services manager on the Arlington Campus.
Jason Reed is a new grounds worker at the Fairfax Campus.
Chandler Stalvey, Office of the Registrar, retired.
Valerie Turner is a new space planner/programmer in Space Management.
College of Arts and Sciences
Robyn Araujo is a new associate professor in Life Sciences.
School of Information Technology and Engineering
David Alberts joins the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as a research professor.
John M. Powers joined the Dean’s Office as an administrative assistant.
School of Law
Thomas Hazlett will join Mason this fall as professor of law and economics, with a joint appointment in the Economics Department. His areas of focus include law and economics and telecommunications policy.
Joshua Wright, who was a visiting faculty member this past academic year, will become an assistant professor of law. His areas of focus include law and economics, antitrust law, and contracts.
Fred Wintrich, administration assistant dean at the School of Law, will leave at the end of July to join Anteon, a systems integration company that provides mission, operational, and IT enterprise support to the U.S. government.

Roy W. Hinton is the new director of the EMBA Program.
