Andrew Ryan, instructor in New Century College, is helping to coordinate a hip-hop film festival and exhibit in Washington, D.C. beginning July 1. “Change Methods: Hip-Hop, Social Change, and Global Influences” will feature multimedia visual art exhibitions, an international film series, DJ and live music performances, and a panel discussion. It is presented by Provisions Library in collaboration with the D.C. Hip-Hop Theater Festival. Ryan has coordinated an exhibit on resistance album art and will moderate a panel discussion at Provisions Library at 3 p.m. on July 16 on hip-hop, arts, and activism. Friday, July 8, is the deadline for nominations for the Outstanding Supervisor Award, sponsored by the Staff Senate. Go to the Staff Senate web site for a nomination form.

In addition, the Staff Senate would like feedback on the Staff Appreciation Day held in conjunction with Sodexho on June 8. Please complete the evaluation form online by July 1.

The Aquatic and Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus has one remaining session of swim lessons in July for people of all ages and skill levels; sign up by July 10. Authentic yoga, aerobics, and a variety of martial arts classes are also being offered through the end of July.
