Enthusiastic student participation in First Fridays, an event in which the Johnson Center Atrium, Cinema, and Bistro are utilized for entertainment, food, and film on the first Friday of every month, has led to a newly created program, “Every Freakin’ Friday.”

“In consideration of our growing residential student population we decided it was important to offer a regularly occurring weekend program in addition to all of the various student organization events that occur on weekends,” says Alissa Karton, Johnson Center and University Life program director.

Every Freakin’ Friday will begin this fall and provide on-campus residents with a chance to have fun and relax on Friday nights without going out to parties or other off-campus activities. Every Freakin’ Friday will have a different theme each week. First Friday will remain the same, with staple activities each month such as the craft corner, pizza, and the breakfast buffet, along with other activities that change each month.

Second Friday will be designated Game Night in SUB I, and Third Friday will feature live music in the Johnson Center Atrium. Although there are only two Fourth Fridays during the year, they, too, have been given a special designation: Comedy Night in the Bistro.

First Fridays will still be held from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., but the other Fridays of the month will be held 9 p.m. to midnight.
