Fairfax Campus Makes Room for Pomp and Circumstance

Tens of thousands of visitors will be headed to the Fairfax Campus during the next few weeks for high school graduation ceremonies at the Patriot Center. While many ceremonies are scheduled for Friday evenings or weekends, several others will take place during the workday. The week of June 20 will be particularly busy, with almost 40,000 people expected to attend 10 commencement ceremonies taking place during the Mason workday. (Four other commencements will be held during evening hours that week, attracting almost 18,000 additional visitors.)

Following is the schedule of commencement ceremonies that may affect parking and traffic during regular work hours. The Daily Gazette will update this information as it becomes available.

For the week of June 6:

Friday, June 10:

Doors open at noon; 1 to 3 p.m., Forest Park High School graduation

For the week of June 20:

Monday, June 20:

Doors open at 9 a.m.; 10 a.m. to noon, Potomac Falls High School graduation

Doors open at 1 p.m.; 2 to 4 p.m., Broad Run High School graduation

Tuesday, June 21:

Doors open at 9 a.m.; 10 a.m. to noon, Park View High School graduation

Doors open at 1:30 p.m.; 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Centreville High School graduation

Wednesday, June 22:

Doors open at 8:30 a.m., 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., Westfield High School graduation

Doors open at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Herndon High School graduation

Thursday, June 23:

Doors open at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. to noon, Chantilly High School graduation

Doors open at 1 p.m., 2 to 4 p.m., Robert E. Lee High School graduation

Friday, June 24:

Doors open at 9 a.m., 10 a.m. to noon, Oakton High School graduation

Doors open at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 to 4:30 p.m., Hayfield High School graduation
