The George Mason University Board of Visitors (BOV) has appointed Nicholas Hamilton-Archer and Nishant Kolaskar to serve as student representatives for the 2005-06 academic year.
Student representatives serve one-year terms; their primary responsibility is to serve as the board’s liaison to the student body. Student representatives are nonvoting members of the BOV but can present issues, participate in discussions, and question those who appear before the board.
Both Hamilton-Asher and Kolaskar are rising seniors. Hamilton-Asher is majoring in government and international politics, and minoring in Spanish and legal studies. Previously an orientation leader, he is an orientation office specialist and orientation assistant. He also works as a parking supervisor at the Patriot Center and is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars.
Kolaskar is majoring in economics with a minor in Latin American studies and telecommunications. He is an assistant to Dean Andrew Flagel in the Office of Admissions, is active with Mason Ambassadors and the Student Government, and serves as a peer advisor at the Freshman Center, where he teaches the orientation class University 100.
