BOV Approves Raise in Tuition and Fees

At its final meeting of the academic year yesterday, George Mason’s Board of Visitors (BOV) approved an increase in tuition and fees for the 2005-06 academic year. Following are the new rates:

  • Tuition for in-state undergraduate students increased from $227 per credit hour to $245 (7.9 percent)

  • Tuition for in-state graduate students increased from $261 per credit hour to $282 (8 percent)

  • Tuition for out-of-state students increased from $659 per credit hour to $715 (8.5 percent)

  • Tuition for in-state law students increased from $389.50 per credit hour to $462 (18.6 percent)

  • Tuition for out-of-state law students increased from $769 per credit hour to $875 (13.7 percent)

In other action, the BOV unanimously approved the establishment of a Department of Applied Information Technology in the School of Information Technology and Engineering, as well as two new degree programs, a PhD in Political Science and a BS in Electronics and Communications Engineering.
