Before you step onto a George Mason campus for the first time, you’ll feel more comfortable if you’re armed with some of the information contained in the new Traditions web site, which covers everything from Mason jargon (what’s DUCC?) to the school colors and mascot. The university’s Traditions Committee has developed and launched the web site as a way to introduce newcomers—and even old timers—to the history of the university and its student and institutional traditions.
However, says committee member Traci Claar, director of Community Relations, the web site is “a work in progress” and traditions are being added as they are discovered. The committee would particularly like to add traditions of individuals, departments, or units to the site. For more information, contact Claar at firstname.lastname@example.org or 703-993-8846.
