Commission for Women Lecture Series Features Kirkland

The next lecture in the Commission for Women Lecture Series, sponsored by George Mason, the Fairfax County Commission for Women, and the Northern Virginia American Association of University Women, features Connie Kirkland, sexual assault services coordinator at George Mason. Her talk, “Violence against Women,” will be presented on Wednesday, April 13, at 7:30 p.m. at the Fairfax County Government Center, conference rooms 2-3.

Violence against women is a major social, health, and criminal justice problem in the United States. This presentation includes definitions, statistics, reasons for violence, and victim/perpetrator characteristics.
