Doc Severinsen, who entertained audiences for more than 30 years as the bandleader of The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson, visited George Mason last weekend during the National Trumpet Competition hosted by the Department of Music. Severinsen was a guest clinic artist on Friday and performed with the Army Blues in concert on Sunday in the Concert Hall. The National Trumpet Competition brought middle school, high school, and college musicians, as well as professionals, together for four days to compete in front of and learn from internationally known guest artists.
