University Police Select Officer of the Year

Master Police Officer David S. Ganley was recognized as Officer of the Year for 2004 by the George Mason University Police Department. He is currently assigned to the Fairfax Campus.

“He is a very knowledgeable officer with strong leadership skills,” said Captain Fletcher Daniels, who nominated Ganley. In addition to his regular patrol duties, Ganley assists in securing and managing grants, handles special enforcement details and property and evidence, and trains officers.
Chief Michael Lynch presented the award to Ganley, commending him as an officer who has taken his work above and beyond basic expectations and is a true asset to the department and the university.
Ganley joined George Mason in August 2001. Previously, he was employed in Virginia as a police officer in the Chincoteague Police Department.
