Director/choreographer Dianne MacIntyre and bluesman Olu Dara sit with the cast and crew of Open the Door, Virginia! a Theater of the First Amendment production currently showing at the Center for the Arts. This world premiere, a blend of theater, dance, and roots music, portrays real-life stories of African American students from Virginia’s Prince Edward County whose challenge to school segregation played a key role in the historic Brown v. Board of Education decision of 1954. The play will be performed through Feb. 6. For more information or to buy tickets, which are $25, visit the Center for the Arts web site.
