On Sunday afternoon, Dec. 5, there was a fire in the Fine Arts Building on the ground floor.

The fire originated in Room A-100 and appears to be accidental. However, the University Police and the Fairfax County fire marshal are investigating. Because of fire, smoke, and water damage, the room will need repairs. Police estimated the damage at about $30,000. There was no other significant damage to the building, and classes are being held as usual.

Anyone with information about the fire can call the University Police at 703-993-2810 or the Crime Solvers Confidential Tip Line at 703-993-4111.
