The independent film, About Baghdad, will be shown in the Johnson Center Cinema tomorrow at 6 p.m. Hosted by the Center for Global Studies, the screening is free.
About Baghdad depicts life in postwar Iraq. Accompanied by a group of academics and artists, an exiled Iraqi poet returned to the historic city of Baghdad to see what has become of the war-torn capital. The film documents the group’s travels through the ancient city. The filmmakers will be present for the showing and will discuss their experiences with the audience afterwards.
In addition, donations for the Iraq collection drive by International Relief and Development and Phi Beta Delta International Honor Society will be collected at this event. Clothing, school supplies, personal and baby care supplies, toys, art supplies, and house and kitchen accessories are needed.
