Swimming and Diving Teams Host Patriot Invitational

George Mason’s swimming and diving teams will host the annual Patriot Invitational at the Aquatic and Fitness Center on the Fairfax Campus today through Sunday, Nov. 21. Teams joining Mason at the meet are American, Duke, Georgetown, George Washington, Howard, Seton Hall, Shippensburg, St. Francis (women only), and Yale Universities, and the University of North Carolina-Wilmington and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
On the women’s side, the Patriots currently hold a 5-2 overall record (5-0 in the Colonial Athletic Association). Their most recent win was at the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Pod Meet, where Mason notched three dual meet victories over the College of Charleston, Davidson College, and Drexel University at the Aquatic and Fitness Center Nov. 5 and 6.
Mason’s men’s team is also undefeated in conference dual meets, with a 5-0 record. The team holds an overall mark of 5-1. The Patriots competed in the CAA Pod Meet as well, and took home three dual meet victories after the two-day event.
The Patriot Invitational preliminaries will start at 10 a.m. today and tomorrow, while the finals have a 6 p.m. start. On Nov. 21, preliminaries and finals will begin at 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., respectively. Admission for an all-day adult pass is $8 or $5 for an adult single session. Youth and faculty/staff admission is $2 for a single session. Mason students have free admission.
