Six professionals from the College of Education and Human Development will share innovative ways of using the WebCT tool in a Faculty Showcase presentation, “WebCT as a Powerful Tool for Communication, Collaboration, and Research,” on Friday, Nov. 12, at noon in Innovation Hall, Room 334.
Anastasia Samaras, Karen Weller, Mary Kayler, Leo Rigsby, April Niver, and Elijah Mirochnik will discuss what they have done in their work with practicing teachers. They have found WebCT to be an invaluable forum for teachers’ discussions on moral professionalism, critical pedagogy, and arts-based research, as well as a self-study tool of their own teaching practices.
All faculty members are invited to this special event sponsored by the Center for Teaching Excellence and DoIT’s Instructional Resource Center. Lunch will be provided. Faculty members who plan to attend should e-mail Laurie Fathe at the
Center for Teaching Excellence by today for lunch reservations. For more information, call 703-993-8652.
